Greenstone Point Vineyards & Philosophy

We produce our wines from company vineyards as well as selected contract growers.

We truly believe that great wine is made in the vineyard, consequently a real emphasis is placed on vineyard management.

This is done by intensive canopy management during the summer, this starts by using VSP trellising systems.

This allows us to carry out practices such as shoot positioning, shoot spacing, shoot thinning, leaf plucking and fruit thinning.

During the winter we set the following year’s crop up by individually cane pruning each vine by hand.

This is very labour intensive but we believe very worthwhile and necessary for the crafting of quality wines.
